The folk music festival, staged by the South Tyrol Association of Musical Bands, is being held as part of the highly traditional Merano Grape Festival, with more than 4,000 musicians playing at several open-air concert venues. The undisputed high point of the Grape Festival weekend is Sunday’s grand parade through the town with its decorated floats. Folk music concerts and food stalls selling local seasonal delicacies can be found along the Passer Promenade.
Three days of tradition, music and gastronomy in the city centre. It is one of the prominent events not only in Merano but in the whole Alto Adige, and certainly the most Tyrolean one, deeply rooted as it is in the land, since it was organized for the first time in 1886. It is a tribute to viticulture and celebrates the end of the vintage time.
